Loribeth Cohen, PT

Loribeth Cohen, PT

Loribeth Cohen has been treating orthopedic conditions and chronic pain since 1989. In addition to treating patients and teaching Pilates, Loribeth lectures nationally to therapists. A former marathon runner and dancer, Loribeth is able to offer an integrated approach to athletes, performing artists and people suffering chronic pain by combining Physical Therapy, Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT) and Pilates into rehabilitation. Loribeth is currently working toward certification in Aryuvedic Medicine, which she plans to incorporate into her patient care. Loribeth began her physical therapy career treating patients in outpatient clinics. In 1994, she developed and managed the Physical Therapy Department at the Pilates Studio of the Midwest. Loribeth is a 1989 graduate of the University of Illinois and holds a BS in physical therapy.She founded re:fit in 2000.to the top

Myriam Abrams, PT

Myriam Abrams has treated patients in a variety of settings including acute care, rehab and outpatient therapy since graduating from University of Illinois with a BS in physical therapy in 1989. Her experience allows her to offer a variety of healing strategies to many types of patients at all levels. Mimi joined re:fit in 2000 and appreciates the balance re:fit provides its patients, combining traditional physical therapy, IMT and the discipline of exercise to transform the body.to the top

Jane Park, PT

Jane Park, PT

Jane Park joined re:fit in 2007. She received a BA from Augustana College in 1995 with a major in biology and minor in psychology and a MS in Physical Therapy in 1997 from Mayo School of Health Related Science. Since then Jane has treated patients in a variety of settings. In 2008, Jane earned her Certification in Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT). Jane has implemented the teachings of IMT along with her past orthopedic experiences with exercise and close chain reaction movements to promote the health of her patients.to the top

Gretchen Schmalz, PT

Gretchen Schmalz, PT

Gretchen Schmalz, PT joined Re:Fit in 2005. She has a BS in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University and a MHS in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis. Gretchen earned her certification in Power Pilates in 2004 and in the Feldenkrais Method in 2009. She is also a Level 1 instructor in the Gyrotonic® Expansion System with specialized training in the Jumping Stretching board, Gyrotoner and Dancers Exercises. Gretchen teaches Pilates, Gyrotonic® and Feldenkrais at re:fit. Her experience in so many modalities allows her to work with clients of all types and can recommend the practice that will best suit their individual needs.to the top

Noel Brandis

Noel Brandis joined Re:Fit in 2003 as a Pilates instructor. After graduating from Bard College in 2001 with a BA in Dance, she earned her Pilates certification in 2003 and taught at the Movement Center in Kingston, New York. Noel enjoys the challenge of working with clients of all ages and abilities. She loves seeing clients progress to the point where they can practice Pilates all on their own.to the top

Mary Nardi

Mary Nardi joined Re:Fit in 2001 as a Pilates instructor. She earned her Pilates certification in 1996 and began teaching at the Pilates Studio of the Midwest. Prior to becoming a Pilates instructor, Mary was a professional dancer. Her dance experience gives her a special understanding of movement, which she brings to her Pilates teaching. Mary enjoys working with people of different abilities who wish to explore a mindful way of moving and exercising.to the top

Ilse Zeimann

Ilse Zeimann

Ilse has been practicing therapeutic massage therapy full time since she graduated from the Chicago school of massage therapy in 2001. Since then she became certified in pre and perinatal massage, lymphatic drainage, and foot reflexology. Ilse likes to tailor her approach to the individual client's needs: stress and pain relief, relaxation. After massaging out the initial complaints, she likes working with clients longer term, to be able to experience just how good it is possible to feel. She provides authentic myofascial release through JFB and likes to use stretching in combination with massage. She listens to the client's primary concerns and then listens to the body to come to a comprehensive treatment approach. She has treated clients in a variety of settings, predominantly in physical therapy and alternative health. She is available at re:fit Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays.to the top

Ada Cohen has been the office manager re:fit since the doors opened in 2000. A registered nurse, Ada managed a physician’s office in Chicago for 12 years. Her experience gives her the ability to facilitate a smooth patient experience and an understanding of the importance of it.to the top

Lisa Cooper

Lisa Cooper

Lisa Cooper joined re:fit in 2009. Lisa spent 20 years as a retail sales executive for several clothing manufacturers and then exited the workforce to raise her child. An early re:fit client who deeply appreciated the value of what the studio offers, Lisa decided to re-enter the workforce as a member of the re:fit team. In addition to managing the front desk, Lisa is working with Loribeth to develop the re:sculpt program.to the top

Anne Schrauth, PT has worked with re:fit since 2005 as a physical therapist. Anne graduated from Marquette University with a BS in Physical Therapy in 1970. Since then, she has treated patients in a variety of settings including rehabilitation, hospitals, and nursing homes. In addition to her work in physical therapy, Anne taught exercise classes and started an aquatic program for Bethesda Naval Hospital. Laura Rose Boyle, LMT has worked with re:fit since 2007 as a massage therapist offering Therapeutic and Thai Massage. She has over 9 years of experience practicing massage and body work. Laura has a BFA in Studio and extensive training in a wide variety of therapies including: Natural Therapeutic Massage, Polarity Therapy, Reflexology, CranioSacral, Core Synchronism, Acupressure, Reflexology, Thai Massage, Breema®Bodywork, and Manual Lymph Drainage. She also has specific training in Oncology Massage and Pre-Natal and Post-Natal Massage. Laura utilizes a holistic approach to bodywork, customizing each treatment in response to the whole person - mind, body and spirit. Allen Baker has worked with re:fit since 2007 using VortexHealing®. In addition to having multiple certifications in VortexHealing®, he is an AOBTA certified practitioner of Shiatsu, and certified Transformational Breath Facilitator. He is on the faculty of Zen Shiatsu Chicago where he offers Transformational Breathing workshops. Other studies and interests include Cranial Sacral Therapy, Zero Balancing, and Pilates.
