Re:fit, Inc. meets the growing demand for individual musculoskeletal rehabilitation for all ages. It provides outpatient physical therapy services for orthopedic and neurologic conditions in addition to exercise prescription for enhancement of overall well-being and athletic performance.

We offer a unique approach to treatment by combining traditional physical therapy with the alternative techniques of integrated manual therapy™ and exercise prescription in the Pilates Method of Body Conditioning.

Traditional physical therapy includes myofascial release, muscle energy, advanced joint mobilization, and taping. Alternative techniques of integrated manual therapy use holistic practices to look at all the systems: cardiovascular, lymphatic, neural, etc, not just the muscles and bones and joints. We know that just because there is pain in one section, it doesn't necessarily mean the pain is coming from there. We "map" the body to determine if the pain is coming from physical dysfunction, or psychosocial emotional, spiritual, or belief systems. This works!

By having re:fit as a part of a patient's healthcare team, he or she can learn to stay active throughout his or her lifetime. At re:fit patients will receive the course, frequency and duration of treatment that is best for them, considering their diagnosis, symptoms, and their personal treatment goals.

The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning is an exercise form that has been in use since the 1920s. Using the five parts of one's mind (intelligence, imagination, memory, intuition, and will), Pilates develops and enhances strength, flexibility, control and alignment. The method includes apparatus and mat exercises that teach power and control. Through the six hundred exercises and their variations, one learns to move using one's core stabilizing muscles (known as the "powerhouse" in the Pilates Method). By resisting springs on the apparatus, and one's body weight on the mat, movement becomes more natural and functional.

Founder Joseph Pilates believed that "good posture can be successfully acquired only when the entire mechanism of the body is under perfect control. Pilates is designed to give you suppleness, natural grace, and skill that will be unmistakably reflected in the way you walk, play and the way you work."

Re:fit believes in ongoing education and training for our physical therapists and Pilates instructors. This will provide you with physical therapy treatments using advanced techniques to heal patients better and faster and with Pilates sessions that conform to the highest Pilates standards. We provide personable service, one-on-one work with clients and no waiting time (so you get immediate physical therapy services). You work with only licensed physical therapists and certified Pilates instructors.

Our Pilates instructors are certificated through Romana Kryzanowka, who is a direct disciple of Joseph Pilates. Certification is a year long process during which instructors study for over 1000 hours of classes and must pass all 3 exams. To maintain certification our instructors continue their education through Romana by taking on-going training and lessons.
